Ubitus Provides HTML5 Cloud Gaming Technology To “Dragon Quest X” Smart Phone/PC Browser Version.

Ubitus K.K. (Headquarter：Minato-ku, Tokyo, CEO：Wesley Kuo) started providing cloud gaming technology to Square Enix（Headquarter： Shinjuku East-side Square 6-27-30 Shinjuku Shinkuku-ku Toko, President Yosuke Matsuda） for Dragon Quest X browser version. With this technology, users only need to open the browser of their smartphones or PCs (Windows, Mac) and tablets, and they can play games of the same quality as game console without downloading any software on the device.

Cloud gaming is a technology that game is displayed on user device and operated on cloud server through image streaming. Ubitus uses browser’s HTML5 technology, allowing users to play games without downloading game software in advance, as in the past. In addition to keyboard, mouse and touch screen, game controllers are also supported for gameplay.

Through the development of cloud technology, Ubitus will provide various types of new gaming experiences in the future and support the coming 5G communication mobile era.

 

Open beta test summary

Square Enix started open beta test of Dragon Quest X browser version from 2/5(Wed) 12:00, 2020. Anyone including first-time user can join the test.
Please join the test by clicking “ブラウザ版でプレイする” on “目覚めし冒険者の広場”（https://hiroba.dqx.jp/sc/）, and signing in by Square Enix account.

Windows PC：XInput compatible game controller
Others: Not supported officially, but some game controllers might work.
