Ubitus Announces Strategic Partnership with Starlabs and Distributed Computing Systems Lab at SNU to Advance Korean Language AI Training

Ubitus K.K.(hereafter Ubitus), a global leader in cloud-based AI solutions, has announced a three-way strategic partnership with Starlabs and Distributed Computing Systems Lab at Seoul National University (hereafter DCSLab at SNU) to provide and evaluate the necessary Korean language dataset for training 405B large language models (LLMs) for METI, further advancing AI-driven language technologies in the region.

Enhancing AI for the Korean Language

As part of the METI project, Ubitus is developing a 405B LLM tailored for tourism and cultural applications, which will be released as open-source. The model is designed to enhance AI-driven solutions, supporting Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. To ensure high linguistic quality and accuracy, DCSLab at SNU will be responsible for:

• Conducting quantitative and qualitative tests to assess model accuracy and performance.
• Assisting in fine-tuning AI models for higher  performance and accuracy.

Meanwhile, Starlabs will:

• Curate and process the datasets, ensuring their quality and readiness for model training.
• Deliver the processed datasets to Ubitus for AI training and implementation.

Ubitus will then leverage these datasets to:

• Develop a Korea-specific tourism industry LLM, optimizing its capabilities for cultural and tourism-related applications.
• Train and fine-tune the AI model using the curated Korean dataset to ensure superior performance and accuracy.
