Exhibition of Low-Latency Remote Control Technology from Ubitus at 5G Tokyo Bay Summit 2018

18-05-03

UBITUS, K.K. (Japan: Minato-ku Tokyo, CEO: Wesely Kuo, referred to as “Ubitus”), the technology leader of remote control technology, will exhibit remote control technology of low-latency streaming at the special pavilion “5G Tokyo Bay Summit® 2018” in Wireless Technology Park 2018 held at Tokyo Big Sight from May 23rd to 25th, 2018.

In the exhibition, Ubitus will use this technology to realize the remote control of a small robot through real-time video by VR head mounted display. You can see the possibility of widely applying the low latency to IoT’s (Internet of Things) remote control application that is expected to highly develop with the advent of 5th generation mobile networks (5G).

Through middleware and GPU server independently developed by Ubitus, it is possible to remotely control software and devices on the network by real-time video with low latency. Through video latency reducing technology, remote control with high operability is realized on various video terminals such as smart phones, PCs, and embedded devices.

Application / device / service providers can incorporate high-speed, stable remote control functions in a short period of time even without special know-how such as video compression and network transmission. This technology is commercially used in many games as cloud gaming in the game industry, featuring superior operability due to low latency and actual performances of scalable large-scale utilization by using GPU server.

Ubitus will continue to explore the possibility of development of remote control technology in 5G.
