Medical AI Evolves Again! Ubitus and Mackay Memorial Hospital Join Forces at the Taiwan Healthcare+ Expo to Showcase AI-Powered Smart Hospital Solutions
25-12-01
Global leader in cloud streaming and artificial intelligence technology Ubitus announced that following its debut of the “AI Medical Robot Collaboration” at NVIDIA GTC Taiwan earlier this year, Ubitus K.K. and Mackay Memorial Hospital will once again collaborate to exhibit their latest real-world AI healthcare applications at the 2025 Taiwan Healthcare+ Expo, held from December 4 to 7, 2025, demonstrating tangible progress in smart hospital transformation.
As the largest healthcare and technology networking platform in the Asia-Pacific region, the Taiwan Healthcare+ Expo—initiated by leading hospitals in Taiwan—bridges the fields of healthcare, biotechnology, and information and communication technology to promote cross-domain integration and clinical innovation. This joint exhibition marks a new milestone in the deep collaboration between Ubitus and Mackay Memorial Hospital, transitioning from pilot demonstrations to clinical implementation and validated deployment, while also showcasing Taiwan’s AI and healthcare innovation on the international stage.
Under the theme “Peace of Mind Guardians: AI Robot Dogs and Smart Triage Robots for Comprehensive Hospital Safety Solutions,” the exhibition highlights three major AI-powered applications that combine Ubitus’ advanced cloud computing, generative AI, and edge integration technologies with Mackay’s extensive clinical expertise:
- AI Robot Dog – Intelligent Patrol and Environmental Safety Guardian
Deployed in hospital emergency departments, the AI robot dog monitors air quality, detects abnormal temperatures, and prevents fire hazards. It is also equipped with safety patrol and fall detection features (including automatic alerts for patients found lying on the floor), significantly improving IHCA (In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest) rescue rates and hospital safety management efficiency.
- Wheeled Triage Robot – Multilingual Patient Guidance Assistant
The wheeled robot supports patient navigation, multilingual translation, and health education Q&A. It automatically plans the shortest route for patients, accelerates the admission process, and provides both educational and emotional support, delivering a more humanized smart healthcare experience.
- EBM-Guardian – AI Clinical Decision Support Robot
Jointly developed by Mackay Memorial Hospital and powered by Ubitus’ AI computing and local deployment technologies, EBM-Guardian is a next-generation AI-assisted clinical decision system. By automating literature search and analysis, physicians can input a clinical question and receive the latest, traceable evidence-based reports within minutes—supporting case discussions, rare disease treatments, and academic research.
The system operates securely within hospital firewalls, legally accessing full-text subscription journals while overcoming paywall restrictions and ensuring data privacy and security. Every AI-generated conclusion is supported by verifiable literature references, minimizing hallucination risks. Through its three-tier evidence pathway and critical appraisal AI engine, EBM-Guardian produces structured, evidence-based medical (EBM) reports.
The system has been shortlisted for the National Innovation Award, underscoring Mackay Memorial Hospital’s pioneering role in smart healthcare.
