2024|Selected for METI “GENIAC” — Development of a 405B East Asia Large Language Model
Under METI’s GENIAC program, Ubitus developed a 405-billion-parameter East Asia large language model, supporting Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and English.
The model powers diverse AI applications across culture, tourism, and education, delivering high accuracy and natural conversational fluency. Benchmark evaluations show exceptional multilingual comprehension, with performance surpassing GPT-4 in selected knowledge-based assessments.
2025|Launch of Japan’s Most Advanced Tourism & Cultural AI Language Model
Built upon the 405B model, Ubitus released Japan’s most advanced AI language model for tourism and cultural applications, integrating deep cultural and regional knowledge to support regional revitalization, smart tourism, and multilingual guidance services.
In Maizuru City, Kyoto Prefecture, the AI virtual guide “Chokimaru” is now available via web browsers and mobile devices, offering real-time Q&A in Japanese, Chinese, and English, live sightseeing guidance, and translation services, supported by large on-site display installations at major attractions.
2025|METI Growth Investment Grant — Advancing Multi-Region GPU Infrastructure (NeoCloud)
The newly approved GPU deployment project will strengthen Japan’s domestic high-performance computing capabilities. Using the next-generation Blackwell-based NeoCloud architecture, Ubitus will establish flexible and scalable GPU environments across multiple regions.
NeoCloud applies layered scheduling, distributed computing, and elastic resource management to improve computational efficiency, reduce latency, and dynamically scale compute resources in response to regional demand.
This architecture will help:
- Enhance Japan’s data sovereignty and local deployment capabilities
- Address the rapidly growing demand for generative AI and large language models
